Upon our exploration of our property, we found these really cool twisted branches. At first we thought it was a rope but upon closer inspection we realized it was actually a twisted bunch of branches. Looks pretty cool.

New CT Layouts for Kjoi Studios!

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

After being away for a long time I have gotten back into the game slowly and chose a totally new rocking kit to do my CT work with for the month of March. You have GOT to check it out, it’s amazing for any type of photo. Take a look!

Blues, greens, and oranges… this is a fun fun kit for “boys” or guys that act like “boys”, but still not so boyish that if you have a little “tom-gurl” in your life that you can’t use it. This huge kit is wonderfully grungy and has soo much stuff you’ll be able to scrap multiple LO’s. See below for more previews of this kit.

Kit contains: 12 papers, an alpha in a single .png file, bookplate, 2 ribbon buckles, 3 buttons, 2 flowers, single frame, cluster frame, jean strap, overall strap, shoe laces, 2 different stars, stitched journaling circle, 3 sets of messy stitching, 5 dyno-tape label word arts, 2 ripped papers, 2 ripped hearts, 2 messy ribbons, and one stitched zipper.

It’s fabulous isn’t it? Look at all you get and for only $6! Just look at the two layouts I came up with for them:

Rough Stuff

 Journaling:
Wesley decided he could use daddy’s big tools to work on his ‘car’. It was terribly cute seeing him lug around tools as big and heavy as himself but I was afraid he would drop one on his toe or his daddy’s head and hurt something. He’s such a boy now. It amazes me everyday to see all the new and creative things he comes up with.

All for $5.00! Great deal for such great quality products. Below are some layouts I made with this kit.

Journaling:
Just how close can you get to a Beaver?

I kept seeing this in my backyard and had no clue what it was. I still think it’s a beaver though. Cody went out to take a photo of it and kept taking a photo closer and close to see how close he could get. We were amazed that he got as close as he did in these two photos before it ran off. Was pretty neat to see it this close-up. Beaver or not, ha!

This is my son ‘helping’ mommy plant some mums in her small garden out front this month. He has this obsession with pulling his arm out of his shirt and pulling his shirt up but only on one arm. I call him ‘Spartacus’ when he does this as it sort of looks like he is wearing a toga So he was my ‘Gardening Spartacus’ I scraplifted smanda’s ‘cousins’ layout seen here:

It was just so fun and fresh I knew I had to scraplift it! Thanks smanda!

September 2007

My son was extremely unhappy about being in Ohio this past September. It was ALOT colder than when we left home the day before and it was really early in the morning. So I decided to let him have this really annoying toy I bought him awhile ago without thinking. Anyhow, So after seeing how grumpy he was, I gave it to him and it seemed to make him happy for a bit as you can see, then he tried to eat it so I took it away and back to grumpy we were.

So Bold n Wild!

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

So I was surfing one of my favorite sites for challenges <insertshamelessplughere> Sweet Shoppe Designs <goonwiththepostnow> and there was a spotlight on a designer named Amy Pearson. I was to browse her gallery and select a layout I liked then ‘revamp it’ if you will. She is an amazing artist and I don’t think I did her justice but I tried and loved being so bold and wild for a change! So here is a link to her gallery to see her lovely layouts and then my layout I ’scraplifted’

Amy Pearson’s Gallery

 I scraplifted “Figitized

I am horrible at ‘white space’ layouts and just keep adding and adding to it but I also never scrap with wild, bold colors so this was a challenge for me to break out of a mold. I don’t think I did her genius work much justice but I had fun trying :D

Journaling:
We took you to storytime
at the library but they didn’t
have storytime on this day. So a
few other mommies and I took all
of you kids to the park down the
road. You kept running off and mommy
had to chase you all over. You liked
the swing to much that when I
tried to get a picture of you
you would turn your head as
to be looking for
something…

Examples I used for Template in Freebie #10

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Here are two of the examples I made for the freebie in the template of freebie #10

First is the actual template itself:

And then I am showing how adding a drop shadow to the frame around the focus point picture can add a nice effect of ‘popping’ out a bit
