{Ditz} noun slang
A scatterbrained or eccentric person
-See Leah (StarBright)

When I was around 9 or so my family was living in California. My father took us on our weekly yard sale hunts at a huge mile long neighborhood sale. I was so excited just to find some good deals with my father  anyhow but then I saw it, the sign I had been looking for.. So I rushed to the people in charge and asked where it was, they said “Around back so I rushed in back and started looking. I was back there oh about 15 minutes when one of the guys comes back and asks if im finding everything ok. I say ”no I can’t find any” he said “What do you mean you can’t find any, you’re standing right on it!” now instead of just looking down, understanding where the mistake was, me being the ditz I was and still am said “I don’t see any fireworks” He stared at me a moment, laughed then said “hun, the sign said ‘free firewood’ not fireworks..” then he walked up front laughing as I got down off the huge pile of firewood I was standing on and rushed to the front to find my parents and leave. Everyone was laughing at the time as he had told all the people running the sale and anyone nearby to hear. I just walked off briskly looking for my parents, with my head down and feeling jilted that I didn’t find the fireworks!

Design’s Next Top Scrapper Week 2

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Hey everyone. I wanted to share with you a layout I made for the DNTS challenges.

We were to complete the sentence ‘I wish I was/were…’ and use it as the title and substinance of our layout along with using one photo, 3 times. So without further ado, here is my layout for Peppermint Creative’s DNTS challenge!

Journaling:

I wish I was back in Boca Raton, Florida., with it’s fancy cars, beautiful people, glimmering beaches and the color pink everywhere you turn. I stayed there for almost two months a few years ago and have wanted to go back ever since. It’s so exotic and relaxing that you can hardly get back into reality once you leave. Everywhere you look there are beautiful blue skies and lovely pieces of art. I love and miss Florida…

Examples I used for Template in Freebie #10

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Here are two of the examples I made for the freebie in the template of freebie #10

First is the actual template itself:

And then I am showing how adding a drop shadow to the frame around the focus point picture can add a nice effect of ‘popping’ out a bit

Digital’s Next Top Scrapper

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

I recently signed up for DNTS through Peppermint Creatives website. Our first challenge was:

THEME: Inspired by some of Mr. Mint’s most irritating habits, which I now look forward to scrapping, your first challenge is to scrap one thing that drives you nuts about someone you love. It can be your partner, your kids, your roommate or even your pet! What do they do that just irks you? Good luck narrowing it down to just one thing!

DESIGN CHALLENGE: One of the most important aspects of scrapbooking is journaling. One way to do that is to use direct quotes. Include at least one direct quote on your page. It can be the focal point or part of your additional journaling or even blended into your design. Think outside the box!

No templates, quickpages or scraplifts are allowed and we have to use at least 3 items from peppermint creative’s kits. I am trying new things for myself like using more white space and perhaps a few less layouts of Wesley lol! As you can see from my first layout below, I got one of those new things in ;) Let me know what ya think!

Snoop!

Princess Vespa

Monday, August 6th, 2007

This is a layout I made in honor of my new addition to my family, my 12 week old kitten Cody brought home on Friday. I actually did this for a template challenge over at Natural Designs in Scrapbooking (NDISB). As I explained over there, Cody & I are nerds and love the movie Spaceballs so we named her “Princess Vespa” (mostly we just call her Vespa though)

Anywho, here’s the layout!
